Recorded digital content can be moved and re-recorded

iVDR-S technology has the SAFIA* content protection function and therefore content can be re-recorded onto the original TV hard disk.
In contrast, a digital broadcast program recorded onto an in-TV hard disk and then moved to a Blu-ray disc cannot be re-recorded onto the TV hard disk.

*SAFIA (Security Architecture For Intelligent Attachment device) is a content protection technology for digital TVs and digital audio provided by the SAFIA license group. It has been approved as a “content protection method for removable recording media that are mountable on a receiver” by Dpa (The Association for Promotion of Digital Broadcasting) and appears in ARIB (Association of Radio Industries and Businesses) technical reports TR-B14 and TR-B15.

Terrestrial digital HD broadcast programs can be moved to iVDR-S and content can be re-recorded onto the original TV hard disk.
